A 'PRAYER GROUP' PRAYS FOR LIFE IN ROCKY RIVER
AND WHY WE ALL
SHOULD!
A ‘prayer group’ who supports
“Life” gathers in our city twice a week to pray
outside the building that houses Planned
Parenthood at 20800 Center Ridge Road in Rocky
River.
The prayer group goes to other Planned
Parenthood Offices in other cities and
peacefully prays there as well. You can
call them at 216-362-1732.
They gather in Rocky River – on Saturday
starting at 10 A.M. – and on Tuesday starting at
6:30 P.M.
Their Tuesday 6:30 P.M. Prayer Meeting is the
one I attend weekly as we pray the Divine Mercy
Chaplet and then pray the 15 decade holy rosary
and hold signs that state: ABORTION KILLS
CHILDREN!
I have been praying with them and holding a sign
that says ABORTION KILLS CHILDREN for several
weeks now and I plan to continue in this effort
to support “Life”.
I have always been pro-life. My wife Barb
and I have been blessed to bring into this world
three beautiful children who we raised and are
now adults.
I am pro-life to serve God’s Plan for Life, that
life is precious, and to encourage my fellow
woman and man to protect their unborn child so
the child can be born and become an adult one
day as other children do.
Yet being pro-life is not a reason to be lauded,
it is a mission for those who wish to accept
that mission.
Such as the time I was a volunteer to a Catholic
Priest for several years at the Cuyahoga County
Jail. I was given the mission to meet with
inmates and to give them religious counseling
and to encourage them away from what brought
them to the Cuyahoga County Jail in the first
place. I hated the sin yet as a Life
created by God I tried to get the offenders away
from death that was then going on inside each
and everyone of them, and I also encouraged them
to walk away from crime by knowing and following
God.
I was called one day to visit a specific inmate
at the Cuyahoga County Jail who previously
killed a person (it was reported in the daily
newspaper on what he did.) I met him one
on one and after an hour of talking with him on
what wrong he did, and telling him to accept his
punishment for his crime, yet to look to God who
created him for forgiveness and for future
strength, and for him to walk away from sin in
the future. Then surprisingly he looked
straight at me and said, “Chaplain Fred if I
would have been able to talk to you before I
committed this murder I would never have done
it.”
Life should always be chosen over death. All
Life is Precious.
That’s why I choose to support and to pray with
others who support and pray for the safety and
the life of the unborn child or for anyone
else’s life.
I invite you on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. or
Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. to join us to pray and
to show your support for Life in front of the
office building at 20800 Center Ridge Road where
Planned Parenthood is housed in our home town …

For Immediate Release
ROCKY RIVER – Fred Sokol spotlights statements
from "Forming Consciences for Faithful
Citizenship” a social policy in America. That
the U. S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
overwhelmingly adopted during their fall meeting
on Abortion and a warning for America and Rocky
River.
Sokol says the U.S. Bishops’ message to those
who fail to stop abortion and to those who
embrace abortion is clear. "The direct and
intentional destruction of innocent human life
is always wrong and is not just one issue among
many," the bishops stated. "It must always be
opposed." (“Catholic voters warned on
abortion” Washington Times 11/15/2007)
U.S. Bishops also say, "Political choices faced
by citizens have an impact on general peace and
prosperity and also may affect individual
salvation," the bishops stated. "Similarly, the
kinds of laws and policies supported by public
officials affect their spiritual well-being."
(“Catholic voters warned on abortion” Washington
Times 11/15/2007)
“That said, Rocky River voters and Rocky River
elected officials who fail to stop abortion and
who embrace abortion in Rocky River, risk their
eternal salvation,” cautions Sokol.
“Also, if one finds themselves opposing someone
else who supports life from conception to the
grave that someone not only opposes human life
but opposes the Catholic Church and God!” warns
Sokol.
