ROCKY RIVER – Fred Sokol, Chair – Stop Abortion in Rocky River Committee says, “The following is why some parents either hate or love graphic abortion signs.” 

WHY AM I WRITING THIS WEEK ABOUT PARENT REACTION TO OUR DISPLAY OF GRAPHIC ABORTION SIGNS?

“This week, I broach the subject of the display of graphic abortion signs in front of abortion clinics. 

For I am about to begin to meet and to encourage area pro-life groups to display graphic abortion signs in front of their ‘neighborhood abortion clinics’ in the Cuyahoga County area.  [See my next week’s letter as to where those said abortion clinics are located.] 

So fellow pro-lifers displaying graphic abortion signs understand why the criticism or support they will receive from parents.  Also for pro-lifers to know that all they tell parents in response is, “THAT GRAPHIC ABORTION SIGNS DO SAVE LIVES”, says Sokol.

FIRST: WHY PARENTS HATE GRAPHIC ABORTION SIGNS

“Parents hate graphic abortion signs because it forces them ‘to lie’ to their children.  To keep their children from knowing THE TRUTH that we live in an America that has already violently aborted and murdered more than 52 million American unborn babies.    

What is even worse the child knows the parent is not telling the truth to them.  For what the child clearly sees on the displayed graphic abortion sign is a violently mutilated unborn baby that they can relate to and identify with - because it looks like them.  Then the child fears if it happened to the unborn baby on the sign it could happen to them.  [A parent already told me their child has that fear.]

PARENTS DEMONIZE PRO-LIFERS TO THEIR CHILDREN - TO DEMONIZE THE PRO-LIFER’S MESSAGE ABOUT THE HORROR OF ABORTION

Thus, even with all the consoling and dismissive comments of the parent to the child.  That ‘those people’ who display graphic abortion signs are just nut jobs, troublemakers, terrorists, child haters and lawbreakers. … So that means just because troublemaker pro-lifers display graphic abortion signs it does not mean unborn babies are being aborted and mutilated in America.

The child does not buy it from the parent - for the child can see the picture of the aborted and mutilated baby with their eyes and know something terrible happened to that aborted unborn baby. 

PICTURES SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS

For, what does the word “abortion” conjure in an innocent child’s mind as they see the word displayed on a pro-life sign – nothing.  The parent has no problem explaining the word “abortion” away as just a word. 

Yet what does a displayed graphic abortion sign conjure in a child’s mind – a lot.  The parent can not explain away an aborted baby’s picture - and forces the parent to tell the child “the truth” about the horror of abortion in America.  That we live in a Country, where it is legal to abort, kill and sacrifice American unborn babies. 

THE PARENT IS ALSO AFRAID TO TAKE A ‘PUBLIC STAND’ AGAINST ABORTION – AND IS HUMILIATED IN FRONT OF THEIR CHILD.

Also the parent has to explain to the child, why “they as parents” are not trying to stop the abortion and killing of the unborn baby - that their child identifies with, relates to and looks like as well.  That also is not comforting to the child and to the parent. 

WHAT PARENTS SAID TO ME - ABOUT MY DISPLAY OF GRAPHIC ABORTION SIGNS.

Adult: “… if the law didn't protect your right to employ such imagery I would happily remove your posters and destroy them before your eyes. I pray for the day when the community organizes against such imagery and the civil terrorism you inflict upon them in using it. Parent:  “I do not need my 8 year old child seeing the disturbing signs that you feel are ok to push in peoples faces as they drive down Center Ridge. I try to protect my child from TV, commercials, radio and other things that I feel she does not need to deal with at such a young age.  Life is hard and she unfortunately will find this out soon enough.  Your signs are trying to shape my daughter and other children into situations that they just do not need to deal with yet. … Like I said I try to protect her at all cost and you make it almost impossible to do that.” [Tuesday, October 27, 2009 10:05 PM by e-mail]

Parent: “It's more important to you to get your message out (with these signs) then it is to protect children.  So you are saying you do not care about anything other than what you want to accomplish.” [Wednesday, October 28, 2009 9:08 AM by e-mail]

WHAT FRED SOKOL SAID IN RESPONSE TO THE CRITICISM OF OUR DISPLAY OF GRAPHIC ABORTION SIGNS IN FRONT OF ROCKY RIVER HEALTH CENTER [PLANNED PARENTHOOD]

“Though you may want to protect your child from the World you will not be able to.  I couldn’t either with my 3 children … yet they all grew up to be fine adults.

Perhaps your horror and outrage should not be directed at those who are trying to warn you about the horror of abortion.  For that is what I am trying to do.

Rather, your horror and outrage should be directed at the ‘abortion industry’ that is already responsible for the abortion and murder of more than 50 million Unborn American Babies.” [Wednesday, October 28, 2009, 4:25 AM by Fred's e-mail]

(NOTE TO READER: “What you just read was mostly written by me before I went up to stand, pray and protest abortion in front of Rocky River Health Center [Planned Parenthood] on Friday, April 16, 2010.  Was it just a coincidence?  That a man came up to me at that time to thank me for using a graphic abortion sign that I once used to save his son from abortion - and who has just now turned one year old as well?  Or did God send that man to me.  So it would help me complete my letter about - rather the effectiveness of graphic abortion signs.  So I could show proof to you that “abortion signs do save lives”.  So I could encourage you to display graphic abortion signs - to save other unborn baby’s lives from abortion and death as well.  Please read on and you decide.” – Fred Sokol)

SECOND: WHY PARENTS LOVE GRAPHIC ABORTION SIGNS

Displayed Graphic Abortion Signs save unborn babies lives from abortion and death.  Consider the following.

FRIDAY, APRIL 16, 2010 - A PARENT THANKS FRED SOKOL FOR SAVING HIS SON [WHO JUST TURNED 1 YEAR OLD] FROM BEING ABORTED – BECAUSE OF FRED’S GRAPHIC ABORTION SIGN – AND FRED’S THOUGHTFUL WORDS.

ROCKY RIVER – On Friday evening April 16, 2010 a parent thanked Fred Sokol, Chair – Stop Abortion in Rocky River Committee for saving his son from abortion and who just turned one-year old.   

As Fred Sokol stood, prayed and displayed an “outlaw abortion sign”, two “pray to end abortion signs” prayed the 4 set 20 decade Most Holy Rosary and recited the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy.

In front of Rocky River Health Center [Planned Parenthood] abortion mill and gate of hell – that’s located at 20800 Center Ridge Road that offers ... “Abortion pill (medication abortion) … up to 9 weeks after the start of your last menstrual period.” 

The parent said to Sokol, “If it wasn’t for you, my son would not have just turned one year old.  You approached my wife who was going to have an abortion - with your graphic abortion sign.  The sign showed mangled parts of babies all around a coin. Then you showed her the graphic abortion sign.  Then you told her that there were more black babies aborted by percentage of the black population - than any other race.  You also showed her that you were not prejudice against black people.  She then decided not to abort the baby.  For all you did for our family you earned a “get out of the hood pass”.  That means whenever you are seen in the hood, you will be treated with love.”

I then lifted my hands and eyes up to God and said, “Praise God.”   I then thanked him for telling me of the birth of his baby and that he is now one year old.  I then told the father that I remember the encounter with his wife well, as if it was yesterday and that I was so happy everything turned out well for his family and of course for the little baby boy.

IN CLOSING

If you truly want to save unborn babies from abortion and death - stand and display graphic abortion signs with me.  To help save God's gift to Mankind ... the unborn baby.
