FRED SOKOL: OUR LADY OF ANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH [CLEVELAND-WEST PARK] - PERPETUAL EUCHARISTIC ADORATION CHAPEL – ‘OFFICIAL SITE’ FOR STOP ABORTION IN ROCKY RIVER COMMITTEE - TO PRAY.

Saturday, May 02, 2009

For Immediate Release

ROCKY RIVER – Fred Sokol, Chair – Stop Abortion in Rocky River Committee announced that the Pro-Life Committee agreed to establish Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church and Eucharistic Adoration Chapel – 3644 Rocky River Drive – Cleveland [West Park], Ohio - as the Committee’s ‘official site’ for prayer, worship and for spiritual strength.

Says Sokol, “Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church affords to the spiritual … an opportunity to speak directly to God in the Church’s ‘Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel’.  Also the only 24/7 public prayer chapel in the area for the last 20 years … that allows you or I to come face to face with our Lord Jesus Christ in the Most Blessed Sacrament.”

[Below is how to get to Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church and to their Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel]

“Surely the need for prayer and connection to the Eternal Father, Son and Holy Spirit by our Committee at the OLA Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel is needed at anytime of the day also for whatever reason.  All we have to do is to walk ‘through the door pictured below’ and visit with Our Lord Jesus Christ”, says Sokol.

“It could be our Committee has just experienced a trying time or joyous time while standing, praying and demonstrating at Rocky River Health Center [Planned Parenthood].”

  • “Perhaps we want to give thanks to God as we have just saved an unborn baby’s life from abortion.  By convincing the pregnant mother who was considering aborting her unborn baby … now to carry her unborn child full term.”

  • “Or as we rejoice when a young man said foul things at us as he drove by us.  Then as I made the sign of the cross to him and I prayed to God that He drive Satan from that young man’s spirit.  Then the young man recoiled from my sign of the cross by saying “That does not affect me for I am not of Jesus.”  Surely Satan suffered a blow that time … yet only from the Grace of God who is always with us did it happen”, says Sokol.

  • “Or we want to express our gratitude to God as we just talked with a person who was dead set against our pro-life display of graphic abortion signs.  Then while my friend and I conversed with him and through God’s Grace this person instead of continuing to swear and to argue with us about our display of graphic abortion signs … actually joined in prayer with us.”

  • “Yes the above four reasons for prayer have occurred with our Committee”, says Sokol.

  • “Or after the Committee and I are exhausted after an evening of going door to door in Rocky River.  Handing out an ‘anti-abortion pamphlet’ showing residents what abortion looks like and ‘a flyer’ inviting residents to come and to pray with us.”

IN CLOSING

  • “These are the times we need spiritual healing and uplift … and ‘OLA’s Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel’.  So we are able to continue the pro-life struggle that God has imparted on us”, says Sokol.

  • As Mother Teresa of Calcutta said, “Jesus wants us all to come to Him in the Blessed Sacrament.  He is there in person, just waiting for you.  Nowhere on earth are you more welcome, nowhere on earth are you more loved, than by Jesus truly present in the Blessed Sacrament”

FINALLY

·         Says Peter Pluto Pro-Life Advocate, OLA Parishioner and Eucharistic Chapel Worshiper, “That the King of Kings, the Creator, God would make Himself so available to us is overwhelming.  So much is wrought by prayer.  With God all things are possible.  And what better place to pray!  The Church offers a special reminder to people involved in socio-political action.  Pray!  The great work of promoting life, and the respect for life, is vital.  But your vocation to pray is first.  Pray!”

·         “Please come to our Chapel.”  As Mother Teresa also said, “He is there in person, just waiting for you.”

PRAYER:

COME HOLY SPIRIT, CREATOR, COME [VENI CREATOR SPIRITUS]

- A CATHOLIC PRAYER

  • Come Holy Spirit, creator, come
    from your bright heavenly throne,
    come take possession of our souls
    and make them all your own

    You Who are called Paraclete
    blest gift of God above,
    the living spring, the living fire,
    sweet unction and true love.

    You Who are sevenfold in your grace,
    finger of God's right hand;
    his promise, teaching little ones
    to speak and understand.

    O guide our minds with your blest light,
    with love our hearts inflame;
    and with strength, which never decays,
    confirm our mortal frame.

    Far from us drive our deadly foe;
    true peace unto us bring;
    and through all perils, lead us safe
    beneath your sacred wing.

    Through You may we the Father know;
    through You the eternal Son,
    and You the Spirit of them both,
    thrice-blessed Three in One.

    All glory to the Father be,
    with his co-equal Son:
    the same to You great Paraclete,
    While endless ages run.
    Amen.
